Colorful Berber design

The Marouk Collection is characterized by striking patterns and a sophisticated interplay of colors. Strong contrasts, abrash (natural color gradients), and asymmetry give rise to imaginative works of art. The attractive designs, which Mischioff has created by incorporating traditional Berber motifs, contribute significantly to the collection's popularity.

Even renowned architects and designers like Alvar Alto, Le Corbusier, and Ray and Charles Eames used Berber carpets in their interiors. With the MK46, the Swiss carpet manufactory achieved a perfect symbiosis of tradition and modernity.

The distinctive features typical of many nomadic Berber carpets, including light backgrounds and geometric shapes, have been creatively employed: A base of undyed natural wool delights with a delicate texture created by natural shading. The diamond pattern combines six different colors and lies like a filigree net over the cream-colored background.

The shades of blue, green, and orange used are irregularly distributed across the pattern. The contrast between the background and the colored accents is relatively subtle. Soft hues blend harmoniously into the overall design. Thanks to this restraint, the asymmetrical pattern of colorful diamonds creates a brightening atmosphere without causing any visual clutter.

Pure wool for lasting quality and superior functionality

As with all Marouk carpets, the MK46 is made exclusively from high-quality virgin wool from the Himalayas. This natural animal fiber possesses excellent properties. It is durable, very hard-wearing, odor-resistant, and stabilizes the carpet's structure. Furthermore, it has a high lanolin content, which makes the surface dirt-repellent and resilient. Pure wool carpets are easy to care for and, with proper maintenance, retain their aesthetic appeal for many years. They also perform well in high-traffic areas, whether a living room, office, or hotel lobby.

Not to be forgotten are the positive effects on slip resistance, acoustics, and room climate. With a weight of around four kilograms per square meter, you can usually do without anti-slip mats altogether. Because wool absorbs sound, regulates humidity, and is breathable, a wool carpet the perception of a room in every respect. The tactile experience is also not neglected. The dense pile, with approximately 93,000 knots per square meter and a height of up to twelve millimeters, is grippy and its soft texture invites you to walk on it.
