Colorful Berber design

The Marouk Collection is characterized by impressive patterns and a sophisticated play of colors. Strong contrasts, abrashes (natural color gradients) and asymmetry produce imaginative works of art. The attractive designs that Mischioff has created by taking up traditional Berber motifs contribute significantly to the popularity of the collection.

Renowned architects and designers such as Alvar Alto, Le Corbusier and Ray and Charles Eams have already used Berber carpets for their interiors. With the MK46, the Swiss carpet manufactory achieved a perfect symbiosis of tradition and modernity.

The special features typical of many nomadic Berber carpets, including light backgrounds and geometric shapes, were used creatively: a base made of undyed natural wool impresses with a delicate structure through natural shades. The diamond pattern combines six different colors and lies like a delicate net over the cream-colored background.

The nuances used between blue, green and orange were distributed irregularly across the pattern. The contrast between the background and the color accents is comparatively subtle. Soft colors fit harmoniously into the overall picture. Thanks to this restraint, the asymmetrical pattern of colorful diamonds creates a brightening atmosphere without causing unrest.

Pure wool for long-lasting quality and superior functions

As with all Marouk carpets, the MK46 only uses high-quality virgin wool from the Himalayas. The natural animal fiber has excellent properties. It is long-lasting, very hard-wearing, odor-inhibiting and stabilizes the carpet structure. It also has a high wool wax content, which makes the surfaces dirt-repellent and insensitive. Pure wool carpets are easy to care for and retain their aesthetic appearance for many years if cared for correctly. They also cut a fine figure in heavily frequented areas. Whether in the living room at home, office or hotel lobby.

Not to forget the positive effects on sure-footedness, acoustics and indoor climate. With a weight of around four kilos per square meter, you can usually do without anti-slip mats completely. Since wool absorbs sound, regulates humidity and is breathable, a wool carpet the perception of a room in every respect. The haptic experience is also not neglected. The dense pile with around 93,000 knots per square meter and a height of up to twelve millimeters is easy to grip and has a gentle structure that invites you to walk on it.
