As a Mischioff inspiration, we would like to introduce you to a very special carpet from our Mamlin Collection this time. This exclusive collection is the realization of a long-standing idea by Mischioff chief designer and artist Dani Misio.
Almost ten years ago he exhibited a series of colored stripe paintings in oil paints on canvas in a Zurich art gallery. These color gradients have now been implemented as a modern and decorative carpet collection. Let yourself be inspired by the delicate lines and the innovative structure.
Elaborate weaving implementation
All work steps for the unique Mamlin carpets are carried out entirely by hand at Mischioff. With the carpets from the Mamlin Collection, the difficulty lies primarily in the design and precise, weaving implementation of the varying color gradients made up of around ten to twelve different colors.
Tying the approximately 160,000 knots (Tibetan knots) per square meter requires a particularly high level of craftsmanship and is therefore only the responsibility of the most experienced weavers in our modern Manufactory in Nepal.
Different pile heights serve as an additional stylistic element: As with the carpets from the Tibey Collection , different pile heights are also used in the exhibits from the Mamlin Collection.
As a closed row of knots and therefore in the background there is a monochrome line made of wool, which slightly breaks up the design of the carpets. The silk line, which is just a few millimeters higher, represents the design and gives the carpet its elegant look and pleasantly soft surface. Thanks to this special knotting technique, a Mamlin carpet has the feel of a pure silk carpet .
Decorative and varied color compositions
The Mamlin Collection includes different effective and diverse color compositions. designer carpets leave plenty of room for a wide variety of interpretations. Whether the patterns represent wave-like movement of sound, reflections on a water surface or an opening door to another world is up to the viewer's perception and eye.
Finally, the “icing on the cake”: the Mischioff carpet is part of the “Cologne furnished” photo campaign, which takes place every year as part of the imm cologne furnishings fair. During this campaign, new products from various renowned manufacturers are showcased at different locations in the city of Cologne.
