Delicate lines – innovative structure
Mamlin MA04
As a Mischioff inspiration, we would like to present a very special rug from our Mamlin Collection. This exclusive collection is the realization of a long-held idea by Mischioff's chief designer and artist, Dani Misio.
Almost ten years ago, he exhibited a series of colorful striped paintings in oil on canvas at a Zurich art gallery. These color gradients have now been translated into a modern and decorative carpet collection. Be captivated by the delicate lines and innovative texture.
Elaborate knotting technique
All work steps for the unique Mamlin carpets are carried out entirely by hand at Mischioff. The difficulty with the carpets in the Mamlin Collection lies primarily in the design and precise, knotting execution of the varying color gradients made up of approximately ten to twelve different colors.
The knotting of approximately 160,000 knots (Tibetan knot) per square meter requires exceptionally high craftsmanship and is therefore only the responsibility of the most experienced knotters in our modern Manufactory in Nepal.
Different pile heights serve as an additional stylistic element: As with the carpets of the Tibey Collection , different pile heights are also used in the exhibits of the Mamlin Collection.
A solid-colored wool line, forming a closed row of knots and thus lying in the background, subtly breaks up the carpet's design. The silk line, positioned just a few millimeters higher, represents the design and gives the carpet its elegant appearance and pleasantly soft surface. Thanks to this special knotting technique, a Mamlin carpet—despite containing 50 percent wool (excluding Himalayan highland wool)—has the feel of a pure silk carpet .
Decorative and varied color compositions
The Mamlin Collection comprises a diverse and striking array of color compositions. These designer rugs ample room for interpretation. Whether the patterns represent the undulating movement of sound, reflections on a water's surface, or an opening gateway to another world, is left to the perception and eye of the beholder.
Finally, a "cherry on top": The Mischioff rug is part of the "Cologne Furnished" photo campaign, which takes place every year as part of the imm cologne furniture fair. This campaign showcases new products from various renowned manufacturers at different locations throughout the city of Cologne.
