Pure nature and elegance
The unique feature of the Tibey Collection is the Loop & Cut knotting technique used. Here, the two natural fibers, silk and wool, are knotted together evenly, but processed individually.
While the silk line involves cutting and slicing the material, the wool line remains closed (loop). This process is one of the reasons for the carpets' elegant pile, which, with its subtle sheen and soft surface texture, transforms any floor into an inviting space.
Although not made entirely of silk , their elaborate craftsmanship gives them a silky feel. To achieve the decorative pattern of the Tibey TB18, dark brown rows of solid-colored wool are layered over multicolored rows of silk.
The deliberately incorporated variations in height create dynamic impressions, depending on the viewer's perspective. The combination of fine lines and subtle colors results in a welcoming design that appears creative without creating a sense of unease in the space.
Like all carpets from the Tibey Collection, the TB18 also has an elegant vintage charm, which enriches any interior with a cozy, yet tasteful ambience.
The walking experience, acoustics and room climate all benefit
In addition to the carefully selected materials, the intricate Tibetan knot contributes to the carpet's longevity. Approximately 160,000 knots per square meter are hand-tied over several months, ensuring maximum durability and an unparalleled walking experience. The latter is further enhanced by the carpet's weight of around 3.5 kg per square meter. Heavier carpets reduce the risk of slipping and provide a secure footing.
