Nilanda NI41
The Mischioff Nilanda Collection has been around since 2017. It brings together masterpieces of carpet design art, which are predominantly made from pure silk and use highland wool to accentuate the design.
And with the new design NI41, a new star appears on our Nilanda stage. We're naming him our inspiration of the month because he needs the applause and the spotlight like no other. And that's exactly what he deserves.
Curtain up!
The color, material and design of the Nilanda NI41 create a presence worthy of a large show stage. This designer carpet plays with its audience. It lures, it enchants and puts everyone under its spell. Its silvery, shimmering surface sprays sparks into every room, illuminates it and creates a fascinating tension thanks to the contrasting black. This tension continues on many levels.
Although dramaturgy is a term from theater theory, our Nilanda NI41 meets all the requirements for a world-class piece. The material from which dreams are made, the noble Chinese silk, creates a backdrop that perfectly sets the stage for what is happening on stage. And there on the stage, colorful gray, black and silver tones enter into dialogue on a sand-colored background and compete for the audience's favor. Sometimes Hochlandwolle enters the parquet, sets accents, maintains tension and directs the direction of view.
Invitation to join in
Narratively speaking, our Nilanda NI41 spans the spectrum from classic carpet ornamentation with a central medallion to vintage design and modern carpet art , which, without forgetting traditions, creates completely new carpet experiences. These experiences absolutely involve the audience as co-creators.
This means that a carpet is not just an object for display, but an invitation to participate, to empathize and to help create. Whoever decides to equip rooms with a Nilanda NI41 also determines the always open and expandable dramaturgy of this masterpiece.
Behind the scenes
While the stage directions for the Mischioff carpets are made in the Swiss design office, weavers in far-off Nepal are busy making the art come to life from these instructions. This requires great attention and skill in every step of the work.
The Swiss certification label STEP is like the stage orchestra and ensures that work can be done under fair and livable conditions. STEP supports families involved in carpet manufacturing, monitors suppliers and ensures fair and sustainable conditions throughout the entire process.
