Presented to the public just a few days ago at the international interior design exhibition “neue räume” in Zurich, we are introducing our new Nilanda carpet NI34. The new design was enthusiastically received by lovers of the abstract and modern.
It was said that the carpet pattern, freed from any graphic order, would still become a complete work of art thanks to the harmonious color scheme. We were particularly impressed by the description of a well-traveled lady who compared our carpet to a magical walk in the desert. We thought the picture was so beautiful that we would like to describe it here with our words.
Completely detached – The Nilanda NI34
“I have traveled to many countries and cities, but nothing has fascinated and touched me as much as the desert. Endless expanses that at first glance reveal nothing but desolation and barrenness. Only when you look closely does the magic become tangible. A play of colors and shapes that all seem to dance around completely detached from each other, but are nevertheless part of a larger order.
Rugged rocks that dissolve into gentle surfaces, bushes and bushes that show the strain of the heat and that stretch their branches laboriously towards the sparkling water hole. Nowhere else in the world have I been able to discover the traces of life, including my own, as much as during my walks through the desert. The desert is pure magic. Your carpet reminds me very much of the magic of this landscape.”
Artists in triggering emotions
The Nilanda NI34 is a true artist when it comes to triggering emotions, it is so capable of captivating the viewer and letting them discover something completely unique. Many components have to fit together perfectly to create a work of art of comparable impact: the creative power of our designer Dani Misio, the artistry of our carpet weavers in Nepal and of course the material of the highest quality.
Our Nilanda NI34 is made from around 75 percent of the highest quality Chinese silk and 25 percent Himalayan highland wool. The light beige areas in the carpet are made from highland wool and thus add attractive accents to the design. Visually and haptically, these surfaces differ from the silky rest and give the designer carpet a very special contour.
Fair cooperation for sustainable products
The carpet gains its elegance and softness from the high silk content. Inimitably flattering with every touch and irresistible in shine. With a knotting density of 160,000 knots per square meter, the Nilanda NI34 has a very high knotting density. You can safely take a few walks on the Nilanda NI34 without worrying about signs of wear and tear. Even after years of use, this silk rug caress you like it did on the first day.
All Mischioff carpets, and of course the Nilanda NI34, are manufactured in a certified Manufactory in Nepal. Certified means that emphasis is placed on fair conditions for the working people and on sustainable treatment of nature. We believe in fair coexistence between people and nature and are convinced that every work of art reflects the emotions with which it is created.
