Everything OK
Tibey TB39
As the saying goes, order is half the battle. Our carpet presented here, the Tibey TB39, with its clear structure and tidiness is the favorite carpet for people who love clarity and linearity in life.
A designer carpet to relax and unwind and also a masterpiece of craftsmanship. Equal parts of wool and silk, as well as the restrained color scheme, bring balance and equilibrium to all rooms, the message of which is: everything is fine here.
Get to the bottom of things
Despite its linear pattern, the Tibey TB39 is anything but boring. The fields of tension are created on the one hand by the special knotting technique, the loop & cut technique, and on the other hand by the coloring. This extraordinary interplay of color and technology turns the Tibey TB39 into a carpet that only reveals its complexity and thus the design signature of the Mischioff house at second glance.
Loop & Cut is a knotting technique in which only one knotting line is cut open at a time. The Tibey TB39 is made from 50 percent highland wool and 50 percent Chinese silk. The silk line is cut open and the wool line remains closed. The wool line appears to be deeper, remains underground, and the open silk line emerges and gives the carpet its special feel.
The silk line is also the carrier for the pattern and is therefore responsible for the color gradient above. And if you look closely, you'll see that this color gradient is now crossed by the black loop line. In fact, a grid is created here in the Tibey TB39. Horizontal lines that are created by the knotting technique and vertical lines that carry the pattern. Although a grid is understood as a basic ordering system, in this extraordinary carpet it is not the basis, but the result of the creative process.
The interaction of high-quality natural materials
This area of tension is taken up again in the selection of materials. Although wool and silk are often viewed as fundamentally different in terms of their properties and effects, they are an ideal pair in carpet design. The highland wool , which is obtained by shearing sheep that live in the high-altitude regions of the Himalayas, has everything it takes to make a carpet robust, robust and long-lasting. The self-cleaning function, tread resistance and noise reduction of the pure new wool are advantages that noticeably create a homely feel and atmosphere in every room in which such a carpet is located.
The exclusive grace is brought by the high-quality Chinese silk. Silk, the only continuous textile fiber found in nature, has its origins in China and Mischioff silk is also produced there. Raising silkworms is very time-consuming and actually not very productive. Up to three thousand cocoons are required for approximately 250 grams of silk. This leads to the very high prices of this extraordinary material. But quality silk is unsurpassed not only in terms of price, but also in terms of its properties. No other material looks as elegant and noble, feels as soft and seductive as silk . Silk is also extremely tear-resistant, temperature-regulating and allergy-friendly. A carpet made of wool and silk, like our Tibey TB39, combines the best properties of two high-quality materials.
Reliable organizers
We also love tidiness when producing our carpets. Here too we want to be able to say: everything is fine. We have been working with the Swiss certification label STEP for over ten years. Our carpet manufactory in Nepal is permanently inspected by STEP and its working conditions are examined.
STEP is a key driver for creating livable conditions and goes far beyond the actual working environment. Enabling school attendance for the weavers' children, health, safety and environmental protection are the most important cornerstones of STEP's work. Sustainability at all levels of carpet production and fair trade are the communicated goals of this non-profit organization, with which we are happy to work hand in hand.
