The unity of heaven and earth
Nilanda NI32
The Nilanda NI32, our featured Mischioff Inspiration, is a work of art that unites. Seeming opposites merge into a unified whole, and thanks to perfectly coordinated forms and colors, perfection becomes tangible.
A design by Dani Misio for people who want to transform their living spaces into truly special living environments. Warm, earthy brown tones form the basis of the Nilanda NI32; several concentric circular formations in shimmering rainbow colors lie on the brown and seem to sink into it.
Everything is connected to everything else
Our Nilanda NI32 is made predominantly of pure silk, which makes it so exclusive and gives it its unmistakably lustrous pile. Robust Himalayan highland wool is used in certain areas to accentuate the design.
This combination of silk and highland wool through the elaborate knotting technique with Tibetan knots required a high level of artistry and makes our Nilanda NI32 once again a distinctive designer rug .
The contrasting colors keep the circles visible, yet they blend into the brown background through breaks in the color scheme. In this way, the vibrant rainbow forms a connection with the brown of the earth. This union, further emphasized by the circular shape, symbolizes the eternal interconnectedness of the elements. Heaven and earth are experienced and seen as a unity.
Combination of the highest quality materials
The artful interplay of colors is further enhanced by the use of two materials. On a tactile level, wool and silk unite to form a cohesive whole, yet each retains its own distinct character. The robustness of the highland wool and the elegance of the silk combine in the Nilanda NI32 rug to create a truly exceptional living environment in any room.
Simple, modern architecture with its minimalist design elements is enhanced by this carpet, just as it reveals the inhabitant's sense of beauty and grace in sophisticated interiors featuring extensive use of wood. In every respect, the Nilanda NI32 is a work of art and a symbol of the unity of apparent opposites.
Connection also in production
Like all Mischioff carpets, the Nilanda NI32 is also produced in our certified Manufactory in Nepal. The people who work here don't just weaving carpets. They know they are part of a community, and we are aware of their craftsmanship. Certification by the Swiss Fair Trade label STEP, which monitors and controls all processes from the sourcing of raw materials and supply chains to production and working conditions, is a matter of course for us.
Sustainability in all aspects and fair cooperation are the guiding principles that inform our actions. We feel a strong connection and want the people who work for us and our fair-trade carpets to feel this connection as well. The Nilanda NI32 is, like no other carpet, both the result and the symbol of this unique collaboration.
