Mamlin MA09
Mischioff designer Dani Misio is not only a renowned carpet designer, but also at home in the world of painting. And our Mamlin collection, more than any other carpet series, is an interplay between these two worlds.
What was once a brushstroke finds new expression through the skillful combination of highland wool and silk, transforming any interior into an artful rug. With its vibrant design, particularly the warm orange hue, the Mamlin MA09 is a sensual inspiration for you.
We cannot step into the same river twice
Reminiscent of an evening sunset over a river landscape, the Mamlin MA09 invites contemplation and philosophical reflection. The colors turquoise, green, brown, and beige frame the orange, blending into one another and revealing a seemingly endless, continuous tapestry of color.
The vibrancy of the Mamlin MA09 is enhanced by the special knotting technique of the designer carpet , which makes the surface change and always appear in a different light.
The Mamlin MA09 might evoke Heraclitus's theory of rivers, according to which we cannot step into the same river twice because everything is in constant flux. The line design and color gradients of this extraordinary rug are never static; they seem to be in perpetual motion and cannot be stopped by the gaze.
Where craftsmanship becomes art
The carpet's dynamic surface is created by the silk lines, which, in the loop and cut knotting technique, are positioned slightly higher than the wool lines. This gives the Mamlin MA09 the look and feel of a pure silk carpet . The loops of pure Himalayan highland wool, positioned in the background and slightly lower, break up the design with their delicate green hue, thus accentuating the color gradient.
The weavers in our carpet manufactory in Nepal face the greatest challenges. It is always the artistry of the people working on the carpets that contributes to the creation of such extraordinary and impactful pieces.
High-quality designer carpets – fairly traded
Carpet weaving has long been recognized as part of humanity's intangible cultural heritage and is protected as such by UNESCO. We at Mischioff value and protect this craft by having our Manufactory in Nepal certified by the Swiss Fair Trade label STEP and ensuring that the people receive more than fair wages for their invaluable work.
In addition to working conditions and wages, the care and education of the children also play a crucial role. Furthermore, the entire value chain of our Fair Trade carpets to strict controls. This is the only way to guarantee the superior quality of our raw materials: Himalayan highland wool and pure Chinese silk.
