Exclusive quality: Handcrafted from the finest materials

The basis for the vibrant colors and supple surfaces is the use of highland wool from the Himalayas. This natural material possesses optimal properties for carpet production: extremely robust, durable, good thermal insulation, high resilience, dirt and water repellent, easy to care for, and moisture-regulating.

The positive aspects of the selected natural material result in a pleasant feel and a unique walking experience for the carpets. The latter is enhanced by a soft pile with a height of approximately 10 millimeters.

Furthermore, wool contributes to a better indoor climate, as the fibers can absorb over 35 percent of their own weight in water vapor. The wool rug therefore also regulates humidity.

160,000 knots per square meter for luxury structures

The carpets are handcrafted by experienced weavers at the Mischioff Carpet Manufactory in Nepal, using the Tibetan knot. This knotting technique, combined with the high knot count (approximately 160,000 knots per square meter), creates ideal conditions for durable and uniform surfaces. This density results in a weight of around four kilograms per square meter, which in turn ensures that the carpet stays firmly in place when walked on.

Mischioff, however, doesn't just focus on a perfect finish. Equally important are socially responsible production and sustainability . Fair wages and working conditions, as well as environmentally friendly processing techniques, are a matter of course for this partner of the Fair Trade label STEP. The Mischioff brand on the carpet backing serves as a globally recognized mark of quality.
