Svarga SV06
Flower meadows are a real feast for the eyes in summer. Delicate flowers, blown by the wind, weave together to create a colorful carpet of colors when viewed from a distance.
With our Svarga SV06, the newest carpet in our Svarga Collection , it happens exactly the other way around: a carpet that, when viewed from a distance, creates the appearance of a light-flooded flower meadow.
Shaggy rug made from pure Chinese silk
The Svarga SV06 is a designer carpet made from 100 percent pure Chinese silk. Its pile height of up to 22 millimeters allows the carpet to shimmer and creates a unique tactile experience. While deep-pile carpets usually tend to have very subtle colors, the Svarga SV06 has achieved the feat of creating high-pile carpet
The history of silk production is more than 5,000 years old. There are numerous myths and legends surrounding its origin. However, there is no doubt that silkworm cocoon fibers with their unique properties were discovered in China. The special shine, the high strength, the insulating effect against heat and cold and the radiant color brilliance quickly made silk a valuable raw material, which for a long time was only worth its weight in gold.
The secret of silk production was guarded by the Chinese like a state secret. Even though resourceful smugglers eventually managed to bring the silkworm eggs to other countries, China remains the world's largest producer of raw silk to this day.
The fascination of silk
The elegance and fascination of Chinese silk has survived into modern times. Real silk carpets therefore always exude a touch of luxury and have an engaging grace and lightness.
This lightness is underlined by the extraordinary colors of our Svarga SV06. Warm red, orange, beige and brown tones nestle against pastel turquoise and pink tones; when gently dabbed, they appear as if randomly and yet, taken as a whole, they create an image of harmony and balance. The surface of the pure silk, which changes depending on the incidence of light, gives the Svarga SV06 a shine that fills any living space with elegant cheerfulness. And even after years of use, a Svarga SV06 will continue to radiate all the color power of a blooming meadow.
Masterful craftsmanship
It is a special challenge for our weavers to complete a carpet like the Svarga SV06 to perfection. We only ever buy raw silk from our Retailer . Everything else is done carefully by hand in our Manufactory in Nepal. From the production of the knotting yarn, to mixing the right colors with which the yarn is then dyed, to the actual Weaving , to linking, cutting, washing and tensioning. It always takes several months for a carpet to shine in its perfect shine.
We have been working locally in Nepal with the Swiss fair trade label STEP for over ten years. Certification by this label is both a matter of course and an incentive for us: to ensure on a daily basis that production, working and delivery conditions are checked, that there is social coexistence among everyone involved in the creation of the fair trade carpets and that sustainability and social responsibility are lived. This is the only way that Mischioff carpets become what Mischioff carpets are: an expression of masterful carpet art .
