The future is always what we make of it
Lyocell is a novel cellulose fiber that is 100 percent biodegradable. The manufacturing process is particularly environmentally friendly and has been awarded the European Environmental Prize.
In accordance with the principles of the circular economy, everything is recycled in the production of Lyocell. No waste is generated, nor are any environmentally harmful materials used. Even the raw material, eucalyptus wood, comes from sustainable forestry.
This results in an industrially produced fiber from natural raw materials, whose properties make it ideal for weaving high-quality, durable and incredibly beautiful carpets.
The Lyocell rug Shaggy Plain ARS G016 is a product that combines the ancient art of rug weaving with a forward-looking fiber. Shaggy texture and silky sheen
The Shaggy Plain ARS G016 has the sheen of a silk rug and the warmth of a wool rug . The lyocell fiber is exceptionally tear-resistant, making the rug a long-lasting home accessory. Light falling on the high pile plays with the fibers like wind with trees, causing the delicate brown to shimmer in numerous nuances. This gives the rug a vibrant and expressive character that transforms any room.

Where the future is being forged
Like all Mischioff carpets, the Shaggy Plain rugs are hand-knotted in our Manufactory in Nepal. Because the knot density is not quite as high compared to our pure silk or virgin wool rugs, production takes less time. A Shaggy Plain rug is finished in approximately two and a half months.
The staff of the Swiss certification label STEP are also present in Nepal. They monitor the sustainability of the entire manufacturing process and ensure that all carpets are produced under fair conditions. With our Shaggy Plain ARS G016, we present the first Fair Trade Lyocell carpet from Mischioff, which combines everything from sustainable fiber production to fair manufacturing, protecting our planet and ensuring that future generations are not burdened.
