The future is always what we make of it
Lyocell is a new type of cellulose fiber that is 100 percent biodegradable. The manufacturing process is particularly environmentally friendly and has been awarded the European Environment Award.
In accordance with the requirements of the circular economy, everything is recycled in the production of Lyocell. No waste is produced, nor are any materials used that are harmful to the environment. Even the starting material, wood from eucalyptus trees, comes from sustainable forestry.
The result is an industrially produced fiber made from natural raw materials, whose properties make it ideal for making high-quality, durable and incredibly beautiful carpets.
The Lyocell carpet Shaggy Plain ARS G016 is a product that combines the ancient art of carpet weaving with a forward-looking fiber. It also revisits a chic style that was already popular in the 1970s and 1980s, the high pile. At 30 millimeters, the carpets in the new collection are all genuine Shaggy carpets. Shaggy Structure and silky sheen
The Shaggy Plain ARS G016 has the sheen of a silk carpet and the warming effect of a wool carpet. The Lyocell fiber is particularly tear-resistant, making the carpet a long-lasting home accessory. The light falling on the high pile plays with the fibers like the wind with trees and makes the delicate brown shimmer in numerous nuances. Where the future is woven
The Shaggy Plain carpets, like all Mischioff carpets, are hand knotted in our manufactory in Nepal . Since the knotting density is not quite as high compared to our pure silk or virgin wool carpets, the production takes less time. After about two and a half months, a Shaggy Plain is ready.
The employees of the Swiss certification label STEP are also on site at Nepal . They monitor the sustainability of the entire manufacturing process and ensure that all carpets are produced under fair conditions. Thus, with our Shaggy Plain ARS G016 we present the first fair-trade Lyocell carpet from Mischioff, which combines everything from sustainable fiber production to fair manufacturing that protects our planet and does not burden future generations.
