Real Silk Is Inimitable
The gentle shimmer, the matt shine - that is what excites connoisseurs. There are ways to produce synthetic silk fabrics such as viscose, bamboo or banana silk. But although the look and feel come very close to the original, with a little experience you can quickly see which material it is. For a real silk carpet, only pure natural silk is used. The soft fiber is weaved into the base fabric made of wool or cotton, which gives the carpet its stable hold.

The Sichouk Collection is undoubtedly one of the finest collections from the Mischioff range. A silk carpet from this collection is always unique, because each carpet has its own, very individual color composition. With their flair for delicate details, the designs of the Sichouk Collection come from the creative pen of Dani and Sascha Misio, who show an exciting journey through the history of carpet design with their collections. The careful manual work contributes significantly to the high quality of the fine silk carpets, which are very robust and easy to care for despite the sensitive material.

Modern Designer Carpets Made Of Wool And Silk
A carpet is not always made entirely of silk. In many cases, a combination with wool is the better alternative. The wool serves as a color contrast, for example. An example of this is Mischioff's Nilanda Collection. Here, individual colors were worked into the carpet with the wool in order to effectively accentuate the abstract patterns. In these cases the proportion of silk is still over 70 percent.
The percentage of wool in the models of the Tibey Collection is significantly higher at 50 percent. The special loop & cut knotting technique combines the fine silk from China with the high-quality wool from the Himalayan highlands. Due to the artful loop & cut weave, the silk is slightly raised. As a result, they feel like pure silk carpets and retain their unique shine, but are much more stable and robust and have a decorative vintage look.
