When wood and highland wool combine
Harmony in open spaces through natural materials
Wood and wool share a fundamental characteristic – both materials radiate warmth and bring coziness to large, cool rooms. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) embraced this connection in the redesign of its interiors. Tone-on-tone wooden slats, color-coordinated with the wooden floor, soothe the eye. Seating areas are framed by rugs from Mischioff's Tibey Uni collection.
The loop and cut structure of the rug, which is made of 100% highland wool, softens the overall impression with its captivating color variations. The interior designer wanted to create a calm and serene atmosphere, which this combination of cream tones has achieved exceptionally well.

The direction in which the wooden floor is laid makes the room appear larger. Subtly placed wooden planks, acting as vertical room dividers, enhance this effect. The wooden furniture plays with geometric shapes, playfully breaking up the straight lines. The soft cream tone of the seating blends seamlessly into the room. The upholstery fabric exhibits a similar iridescence to the chosen Tibey rug.
Nature that impresses outdoors is just as effective indoors, as this customer project exemplifies.
