Dani and Sascha Misio are now the fourth generation to run the family business Mischioff, whose roots lie in the wholesale of classic oriental carpets. From the classic oriental carpet to the modern custom carpet
With their special flair for designs and colors, the Misio brothers regularly develop new trends, which are manufactured purely by hand in their own factories. Over the last two decades, more than 5,000 different carpet designs have been created, which can be found in the various collections.
While initially the focus was on unique one-of-a-kind pieces, nowadays the focus is more than ever on the reproducibility of one's own creations. Made-to-measure carpets are an important part of today's trade in order to meet the wishes and needs of international customers. Customization of designs and colors is also part of the daily business, giving each individual rug its own personal touch.

Handmade custom carpets from pure natural materials
The outstanding quality of the designer carpets is firmly anchored in the company's own philosophy. Only the highest quality natural materials are used to manufacture the custom carpets: Highland wool from the Himalayas as gentle and at the same time robust wool varieties and the finest natural silk from China serve as the main components of the Mischioff collections.
In addition, lyocell, hemp, nettle or other natural fibers are sometimes used to achieve special effects. All materials are hand-spun and guarantee a particularly gentle and at the same time easy-care character of the carpets.
Another quality feature is the complete manufacturing by hand. All work steps are completed by hand by experienced professionals in the manufactories. Therefore, the knotting of a custom carpet usually takes about three to four months - the careful knotting takes some time, but this guarantees the long life of the carpets.
In addition, each custom carpet receives an individual charm through the handmade production, as the personal knotting style of the weavers is reflected in the carpet. As a long-standing partner of the fair trade label STEP, Mischioff is committed to socially and environmentally friendly manufacturing in the production countries and fully supports fair trade carpets.
Usual standard sizes and carpets made to measure
In the large Showroom in Embrach near Zurich, the versatile carpet collections are presented - currently around 1,500 car pets serve here as exhibits or are waiting for a new owner. While a made-to-measure carpet must first be ordered and made, the extensive range offers various standard sizes that are available directly from stock.
Common and versatile standard sizes are 300 x 230 centimeters or 250 x 180 centimeters, but also various intermediate sizes are directly available within the various collections. And if the right size is not in stock at the moment, the made-to-measure carpet is made in just a few months.

Not only on site at Showroom, also online Mischioff allows insights into the versatile world of its own collections and carpet designs. For this purpose, the trade as well as interested private customers can use our online catalog, for which you can register without obligation. The online catalog shows all designs and models available from stock.

Choose carpet of your choice and order it as a custom carpet
Within the different collections, there are currently around 1,000 different designs and countless color variations available, which can be ordered as made-to-measure carpets. After the selection of the desired designs, the designers make a visualization of the carpets in the desired size, if necessary, also in the desired colors. Also a visualization of the carpet in the interior or project area is possible and usually a free Service.
Especially in the case of color adjustments, the next step is to make a sample to check the colors and structure for the last time. Only when everything corresponds to the individual ideas, the custom carpet goes on the knotting loom. Once the carpet is finished, it undergoes a final quality check at the main warehouse in Zurich before the custom carpet is sent on its way to the customer.
