The most famous Chinese carpet comes from the Pao Tou (Baotou) , where the carpet trade its greatest focus. In this area, artistic carpets were initially made for home use and later also for international export. Characteristic of these Chinese carpets is the dark blue background , on which the loving, multi-colored motifs are particularly beautifully presented.
Beige and red were rarely used as primary colors. The motifs often come from the animal and plant world or reflect local life - the basis is often traditional stories and legends such as the journey of Confucius or the emperor's horses. The variety is endless and every Chinese carpet delights its viewer.
The carpets from the Chinese region of Ningxia are also unmistakable. These special Chinese carpets play with traditional symbols and are usually very colorfully knotted . A popular motif is the Chinese dragon as well as the symbolic symbols Yin and Yang or the swastika . These carpets were used by Chinese monks as sitting and prayer mats and are very rare.

Chotan and Kashgar carpets visually resemble the typical Persian carpet due to their proximity to the Persian Empire at the time.
Peking carpets, on the other hand, use traditional Chinese motifs . These carpets are usually made in larger formats and still serve as popular home accessories in large apartments and houses today. Carpets from Tibet are particularly rare , as many of these carpets were destroyed in times of war.
