Our Rug Of The Month July 2020: A Whole Universe In One Carpet - The Circlism C05

The circle has fascinated people for thousands of years. Across all cultures, through ages and regions, he makes his rounds and becomes a symbol for the endless, for the perfect and for the recurring questions of mankind.

No science, no art direction, no religion has ever been able to fully clarify the mystery of this geometric shape. Mathematics teaches how to calculate a circle, religion reveres it as a saint symbol, but art gives us a look into a new universe with every circle.

A Night Sky Made Of Wool And Silk

Our managing director Dani Misio not only designs our rugs, he is also a painting artist. And his paintings are often the inspiration for new carpet designs, including our Circlism Collection. What once shone on the canvas becomes a work of art for the floor. With our Circlism C05, our rug of the month of July, it is a cosmos of thousands of circles of wool and silk that look like a view of the endless starry sky.

Calm shades of blue and purple are the base on which the small and all differently colored circles rotate. They change their play of colors from a berry red to warm yellow-orange, turn almost pink, almost white, a little green and often resort to shades of blue and purple, which seem to blur them with the background.

Arranged evenly on the carpet, the design could be followed endlessly. The color composition of the Circlism C05 design carpet ensures liveliness, the mobility of a starry sky with stars flashing, the Milky Way passing by and dreams arising.

Circlism C05

No Rug For One Night

Our night sky Circlism C05 consists for the most part (80 percent) of the best Himalayan highland wool. It is easy to care for, robust and long-lasting, so it offers the best conditions for all situations and demands. Partially pure Chinese silk is used for special color accents, so some stars become comets, others turn to falling stars. The particularly gentle pile also makes our Circlism 05 haptically a flattering experience. Walking barefoot through the universe has never been more pleasant.

It takes more than four months to create a Nepal carpet like the Circlism 05 in our manufactory. The weaving of the small and differently colored circles requires true mastery and a high level of skill. A Circlism 05 in our standard size of 300 by 230 centimeters combines more than 2,500 circles in its design.

Design – Quality – Fair Trade

At Mischioff, maintaining this artistry is very important to us, which is why we take special care of the weavers. Fair conditions surrounding the creation of our rugs are very important to us. Whoever works for or with us does so under good conditions and with fair remuneration. We also provide childcare and enable schooling. We also include our suppliers in our quality thinking. The people of the Swiss fair trade label STEP are reliable and long-standing partners at our side. We wear the STEP label with pride and conviction.

In this way we can guarantee the unique quality that defines the Mischioff carpets. Fair-trade rugs that will accompany you for a lifetime and that you can pass on to your grandchildren.
