Rug Of The Month June 2020: An Invitation To Philosophize - The Mamlin MA09
Mischioff designer Dani Misio is not only a respected carpet designer, he is also at home in the world of painting. And more than any other carpet series, our Mamlin collection is an interplay between these two worlds.
What was once a brush stroke finds new expression through the skillful combination of highland wool and silk and enchants every interior as an artistic carpet.
We Cannot Step Twice Into The Same River
The Mamlin MA09 with its colorful design, from which the warming orange shines in particular, is our rug of the month of June 2020. In memory of an evening sunset on a river landscape, it invites you to linger and philosophize. The colors turquoise, green, brown and beige frame the orange, run into each other and open up the view to an apparently infinitely continuous color. The liveliness of the Mamlin MA09 is enhanced by the special type of knotting of the rug, which makes the surface oscillate and keeps it appearing in a different light.
The Mamlin MA09 may remind us a little of the Heraclitus' flow theory, according to which we cannot step into the same river twice because everything is constantly changing. The line design and the colour gradients of this extraordinary rug are never rigid, they seem to be in constant motion and cannot be stopped with the eyes.
Mamlin MA09
Where Craft Becomes Art
The changeable surface of the rug is created by the silk lines, which are slightly higher than the wool lines with the Loop & Cut knotting technique. The Mamlin MA09 thus gains the look and feel of a pure silk carpet.
The loops made of pure Himalayan highland wool in the background break up the design with their delicate green and thus accentuate the colour gradient. Highest challenges for the weavers in our manufactory in Nepal. Because it is always the artistry of the people working on the carpets that helps to create such extraordinary and effective masterpieces.
High-Quality Designer Rugs - Fairly Manufactured
Carpet weaving has long been part of the intangible cultural heritage of mankind and as such is protected by UNESCO. At Mischioff, we value and protect this craft by having our manufactory in Nepal certified by the Swiss fair trade label STEP and ensuring that people receive more than a fair reward for their valuable work.
In addition to job conditions and remuneration, childcare and schooling also play an important role. The entire value chain is also subject to strict controls. This is the only way to ensure the top quality of the raw materials, our Himalayan highland wool and pure Chinese silk.
Order The Mamlin MA09
The weaving of our Mamlin MA09 should not be underestimated in its claim. It is only possible to transform the original design with its radiance and expressiveness into a rug by having the same artists working in the carpet factory as in our parent company in Switzerland.
Here artists shake hands and understand each other. The Mamlin MA09 is a rug that nature couldn't have painted more beautifully and exclusively.
The Mamlin MA09 is manufactured in the standard size of 300 x 230 centimeters, but like all Mischioff rugs also orderable in any desired size. Wherever you need help finding the right space, please ask your local dealer or use our specialist support. The entire Mamlin collection was created on the basis of the stripes pictures by Dani Misio. Do not hesitate to look at the entire collection. The colouring and quality is unique.
