Marouk MK01
In our inspiration we present you the Marouk MK01 made from 100 percent Himalayan highland wool. This carpet comes from the Marouk Collection, which differs from our other collections in that it has a slightly coarser weave.
With around 93,000 knots per square meter, these carpets can be produced more quickly and can also be ordered at a lower price. Despite the lower knot density, the carpets from the Marouk Collection very robust and impress with their dense and pleasantly soft pile.
Very robust carpets with a soft pile
The Marouk MK01 corresponds to a classic Berber carpet with light beige wool in the background and motifs in rich blue. The simple, graphic motifs create a modern and decorative look. In addition, the asymmetrical arrangement ensures an optimal contrast to otherwise straight-lined furnishings.
All Mischioff carpets are made exclusively by hand. Experienced weavers make these in Nepalese Manufactory from exclusive, high-quality Himalayan highland wool.
This creates natural color gradients, the so-called “abrashes”, an effect of the wool blend used, which significantly enhance the individual look of each individual carpet.
The smooth pile, with a height of around 10 millimeters, makes the Marouk MK01 a very easy-care and robust furnishing accessory compared to a long-pile, shaggy Berber carpet.
A combination of tradition and modernity
The Marouk MK01 is one of the models in a whole series of different Berber designs within the Marouk Collection . This offers exciting and varied wool carpets that combine tradition with modernity and have been very trendy for many years - precisely because of their decorative properties.
For example, Berber carpets can be displayed very decoratively in a modern living environment. This trend is based on a long history. This type of carpet originally comes from the nomadic tribes of the Atlas Mountains in Morocco.
The special charm of these special designer carpets did not go unnoticed by many renowned architects and designers. For example, Alvar Alto, Le Corbusier and Ray and Charles Eames repeatedly used Berber carpets in their own facilities.
