A whole universe in one carpet

Circlism C05

The circle has fascinated people for thousands of years. Across all cultures, through eras and regions, it makes its constant rounds and becomes a symbol for endlessness, for perfection and for the recurring questions of humanity.

No science, no art movement, no religion has ever been able to completely clarify the mystery surrounding this geometric shape. Mathematics teaches us to calculate a circle, religion reveres it as a sacred symbol, but art gives us a glimpse into a new universe with each circle.

A night sky made of wool and silk

Our managing director Dani Misio not only designs our carpets, he is also a painting artist. And his paintings often serve as inspiration for other carpet designs, including our Circlism Collection .

What once shined on the canvas becomes a work of art for the floor. Our Circlism C05, the inspiration presented here, is a cosmos of thousands of circles made of wool and silk that resemble a view of the endless starry sky.

Calm tones of blue and purple are the background on which the small and all different colored circles rotate. They change their color play from a berry red to a warm yellow-orange, sometimes become almost pink, almost white, a little green and often resort to shades of blue and purple, which makes them seem to blur into the background.

Arranged evenly on the carpet, the design could be followed indefinitely. The color composition of the design carpet ensures liveliness, the mobility of a starry sky where stars twinkle, the Milky Way passes by and dreams arise.

No carpet for one night

Our Circlism C05 night sky rug is predominantly (80 percent) made from the finest Himalayan highland wool. Easy-care, robust, and durable, it offers the perfect conditions for all occasions and every wear and tear. Fine Chinese silk is occasionally used for special color accents, transforming some stars into comets, others into shooting stars. The particularly soft pile also makes our Circlism 05 a pleasing tactile experience. Walking barefoot through the universe has never been more pleasant.

It takes more than four months to create Nepal carpet like the Circlism C05 in our Manufactory Weaving Weaving true mastery and a high level of artistry. With a Circlism 05 in our standard size of 300 by 230 centimeters, that's more than 2,500 weaving circles alone.
